The Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) is a Constituent College of the University of Dar es Salaam, established in 2005. The College’s core functions, as stipulated in its Charter and Rules of 2010, include teaching, research, and provision of public services.
In order to strengthen effective teaching and learning, research, and community engagement, DUCE invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill the following vacant positions:
1.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER (PHYSICS) – 1 POST
Remuneration: PUTS 2.1
Duties and Responsibilities
-
To conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate programmes;
-
To prepare and present case studies;
-
To conduct research and publish/disseminate research findings;
-
To participate in curriculum development;
-
To identify and support students with learning difficulties;
-
To guide and mentor students in academic matters;
-
To participate in consultancy and community services under supervision;
-
To attend workshops, conferences, and symposia.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Holder of a Master of Science in Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Computational Physics, or Materials Physics;
-
Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Science with Education (Physics), Physics, Physics and Chemistry, or Education in Science (Physics);
-
Minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s level and 3.8 at Bachelor’s level;
-
Minimum grade of B+ in Physics courses.
1.2 ASSISTANT LECTURER (COMPUTER SCIENCE) – 1 POST
Remuneration: PUTS 2.1
Qualifications and Experience
-
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems;
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields;

Minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s level and 3.8 at Bachelor’s level;
-
Minimum grade of B+ in Computer Science subjects.
1.3 ASSISTANT LECTURER (MOLECULAR BIOLOGY) – 1 POST

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Applied Zoology, or related fields;

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related fields;

Minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s level and 3.8 at Bachelor’s level.
1.4 ASSISTANT LECTURER (POLITICAL SCIENCE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION) – 1 POST

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration or Public Administration;

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration or Education in Arts;

1.5 ASSISTANT LECTURER (ACCOUNTING) – 1 POST

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, or related fields;

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance;

1.6 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (ECONOMICS AND STATISTICS) – 2 POSTS

1.10 ASSISTANT LECTURER (EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION) – 1 POST

Master of Education in Early Childhood Education;

Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education;

1.11 – 1.16 TUTORIAL ASSISTANT POSITIONS
(Computer Science, Mathematics, Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics, Literature Teaching Methods, Economics Teaching Methods, Early Childhood Education)
