Job Vacancies at Mbeya City Council March 2026 The City Director of Mbeya City Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for nineteen (19) job vacancies in the Council after receiving a recruitment permit from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance for the following positions:


1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 13 POSTS

1.1 Duties and Responsibilities

i. Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety.
ii. Transport staff to various duty stations for official assignments.
iii. Perform minor vehicle maintenance.
iv. Deliver and distribute documents when required.
v. Record and maintain details of all trips in the logbook.
vi. Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
vii. Perform any other duties assigned by the employer.

1.2 Qualifications

  • Holder of a Form Four Certificate.

  • Valid Driving License Class C or E with at least one year of accident-free driving experience.

  • Possess a certificate qualifying for the respective driving class.

  • Must have attended a Basic Driving Course from VETA or any Government-recognized institution.

1.3 Salary Scale

2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 6 POSTS

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities

i. Register incoming correspondence in the incoming correspondence register.
ii. Register outgoing correspondence in the outgoing correspondence register.
iii. Distribute files to action officers.
iv. Receive returned files from officers.
v. Retrieve records/documents/files requested by officers.
vi. Return files to racks/filing cabinets or designated storage areas.
vii. Track file movement within the institution (file tracking).
viii. Perform any other duties assigned by the employer.

2.2 Qualifications

  • Holder of Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) Certificate.

  • Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a Government-recognized institution.

  • Computer literacy skills.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.

iii. Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a reliable address, phone number, email address, and three reputable referees.
iv. Provisional results, testimonials, and result slips (Form IV & VI) will NOT be accepted.
v. Applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
vi. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
vii. Public servants seeking transfer to different cadres must channel their applications through their employers.
viii. Applicants already employed in entry-level positions in Public Service should not apply and must comply with Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November 2010.
ix. All academic certificates must be certified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including Form IV, Form VI (where applicable), and professional certificates relevant to the post.
x. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NACTE, and NECTA).
xi. Submission of forged information or documents will result in legal action.
xii. Application letters must be written in either Kiswahili or English.
xiii. Deadline for application submission is 17th March 2026.
