Position Available
Mechanical Technician
Job Type: Permanent Employment
Duty Station: Mbeya Plant
Reports To: Team Leader
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing routine preventive maintenance (PM) on plant equipment.
- Monitoring equipment vibration and temperature to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment including valves, pipelines, pressure vessels, and storage tanks.
- Executing planned maintenance activities in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Troubleshooting mechanical equipment and conducting preliminary root cause analysis.
- Reporting maintenance requirements, equipment faults, and operational issues.
- Ensuring all engineering works comply with required technical standards.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in the manufacturing or extractive industry.
Required Skills and Competencies
Ideal candidates should have knowledge and experience in:
- Mechanical fitting, welding, and turning.
- Bearing installation and lubrication systems.
- Belt splicing technology (hot and cold splicing).
- Pulley lagging and belt alignment.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Industrial machinery troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
