1. PRINCIPAL – SINGIDA POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE

Number of Posts: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all academic, administrative, and development activities of the College.
  • Supervise the implementation of institutional policies, plans, regulations, and applicable education standards.
  • Manage staff, resources, budgets, and College expenditure efficiently and accountably.
  • Ensure quality teaching, learning, assessment, and student services.
  • Represent the College in meetings, partnerships, and other institutional activities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Management, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in leadership or management of an educational institution.
  • Strong leadership, planning, decision-making, and staff-management skills.
  • High integrity, accountability, and excellent communication skills.

2. HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER / HR

Number of Posts: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage employment, contracts, leave, attendance, and staff records.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new employees.
  • Implement human resources policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee records and files.
  • Advise management on human resources and administrative matters.

Qualifications

  • At least a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of HR management systems.
  • Experience in human resources or administration will be an added advantage.

3. PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLIES OFFICER

Number of Posts: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement, supplies, and acquisition of goods and services required by the College.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement, equipment, and College asset records.
  • Monitor the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies to relevant departments.
  • Work with management to prepare procurement and supply plans.
  • Ensure procurement and supply procedures are followed transparently and accountably.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Management, Materials Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of procurement, supply, and records-management systems.
  • Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in procurement or supplies will be an added advantage.

4. DRIVERS

Number of Posts: 3

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive College vehicles safely and in accordance with road safety regulations.
  • Transport staff, visitors, documents, and equipment as instructed.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are maintained in good condition.
  • Maintain records of journeys, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Report vehicle faults and maintenance requirements promptly.

Qualifications

  • At least Form IV education.
  • Valid driving licence appropriate to the assigned vehicle.
  • At least three (3) years of driving experience.
  • Honest, disciplined, and committed to road safety regulations.

5. REGIONAL COORDINATORS

Number of Posts: 15

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate College activities and programmes in the assigned region.
  • Supervise academic activities, admissions, and student services within the assigned area.
  • Link the College with students, education stakeholders, and institutions in the region.
  • Monitor implementation of College plans and objectives and submit progress reports.
  • Support student mobilization, marketing, and admissions activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Administration, Management, Community Development, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of digital systems.
  • Experience in education, programme coordination, or community activities will be an added advantage.

6. CHINESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS

Number of Posts: 10

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach Chinese language according to the College curriculum and established standards.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and student assessments.
  • Monitor students’ progress in reading, writing, listening, and speaking Chinese.
  • Prepare and mark examinations, exercises, and assignments.
  • Participate in academic activities and language and cultural programmes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language, Education, Languages, or a related field.
  • Good ability to speak, read, and write Chinese.
  • Recognized Chinese-language proficiency certificates such as HSK will be an added advantage.
  • Teaching experience in Chinese language will be an added advantage.

7. DISTANCE EDUCATION OFFICERS

Number of Posts: 4

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate distance education programmes and ensure students receive appropriate services.
  • Monitor participation, progress, and needs of distance-learning students.
  • Coordinate communication between students, instructors, and academic departments.
  • Support distribution of learning materials and use of digital education systems.
  • Prepare implementation and progress reports for distance education programmes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Distance Education, Educational Management, or a related field.
  • Understanding of distance education and online learning systems.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience in distance education or e-learning will be an added advantage.

8. EDUCATION QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICERS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning, and curriculum implementation.
  • Conduct academic assessments and ensure education standards are maintained.
  • Review lesson plans, teaching materials, and implementation of academic activities.
  • Prepare quality assurance reports and recommend improvements.
  • Work with instructors and management to improve education quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Quality Assurance in Education, Educational Management, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of curriculum, teaching, assessment, and quality assurance systems.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, analysis, and prepare academic reports.

9. CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECORDS OFFICER

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and assist students, applicants, visitors, and other College stakeholders.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide accurate information about programmes, admissions, and College services.
  • Receive and follow up on customer feedback, complaints, and challenges until resolved.
  • Handle communication through telephone, email, and digital platforms.
  • Maintain service records and ensure customers receive timely and professional services.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Customer Service, Public Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Kiswahili and English.
  • Good computer and communication-system skills.
  • Experience in customer service, front office, or an educational environment will be an added advantage.

10. HEAD OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) DEPARTMENT

Number of Posts: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all College ICT systems.
  • Manage networks, servers, information systems, website, databases, and digital infrastructure.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and safe storage of College information and systems.
  • Supervise technical troubleshooting and provide ICT support to staff and students.
  • Develop and implement technology development and improvement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of ICT experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of networking, databases, information security, server administration, and digital systems.
  • Professional ICT certifications will be an added advantage.

11. HEAD OF DISTANCE EDUCATION (E-LEARNING) DEPARTMENT

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all College distance education and e-learning activities.
  • Develop and supervise plans, systems, and strategies for distance education delivery.
  • Manage the use and development of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other digital learning platforms.
  • Coordinate instructors, distance education officers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality, student participation, and student progress and prepare departmental performance reports.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Technology, Distance Education, E-Learning, Educational Management, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in education, distance education, e-learning, or academic programme management.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), educational technologies, and online learning systems.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, planning, and team-management skills.

12. ACCOUNTANT

Number of Posts: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage College revenue, expenditure, and financial records.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Manage fee collection and follow up on outstanding student debts.
  • Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain payment documents.
  • Manage accounting systems and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare documents and reports required for audits.
  • Ensure compliance with College financial procedures, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Good knowledge of accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and computer applications.
  • Honest, accurate, disciplined, and capable of maintaining financial confidentiality.
  • Accounting experience, particularly in an educational institution, will be an added advantage.
