41,500 Teachers and Other Sector Jobs To Be Announced Soon 2026 Dodoma. President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s second term has commenced on a strong footing, marked by an unprecedented surge in job creation across the public sector.
In a major step toward fulfilling her development agenda, the Government has approved 41,500 new employment opportunities, most of which are expected to be advertised shortly. The initiative clearly reflects the President’s commitment to transforming policy pledges into tangible socio-economic benefits for Tanzanians.
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma on Friday, January 30, 2026, the Minister of State in the President’s Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance), Mr. Ridhiwani Kikwete, said President Samia has authorized the recruitment exercise to address critical staffing gaps across ministries, departments and agencies.
Mr. Kikwete noted that job creation remains one of the Government’s key priorities during the first 100 days of President Samia’s second and final term.
He further explained that between November 2025 and January 2026, the Government had already announced 12,000 vacant positions, including 5,000 posts in the health sector and 7,000 teaching positions, with particular emphasis on science subjects.
“So far, 8,410 newly recruited employees have already reported to their respective duty stations, while 735 employees have received their January salaries after completing all required documentation,” Mr. Kikwete said.
With the additional 41,500 recruitments in the pipeline, he emphasized that Tanzania remains on course to create at least 53,500 jobs within the first 100 days of President Samia’s second term.
He added that preparations to advertise the remaining vacancies are at an advanced stage and that official announcements will be made in due course.
Mr. Kikwete underscored that the large-scale recruitment drive demonstrates President Samia’s firm commitment to addressing unemployment, strengthening public service delivery, and ensuring that critical sectors such as health and education are adequately staffed.
Analysts have described the Government’s aggressive employment strategy as a strong signal of economic resilience and effective governance, positioning job creation as a central pillar of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s second-term legacy.
