Allowances for volunteer teachers 2025
The government has announced that teachers will be given the opportunity to do voluntary work in schools with special agreements and special payments The Deputy Minister of Service and Good Governance, Deus Sangu, told Parliament on Friday May 2, 2025, that the guide will officially come into force from July 2025.
The Deputy Minister was responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Arumeru West, Noah Saputu, who asked when the Government will finalize the guidelines for giving priority to jobs advertised for volunteers. In an additional question, the Member of Parliament questioned why the Government does not announce the program along with the payment for young volunteers.
In this payment, the government has said that the teachers will be paid as follows:
- Volunteer primary school teachers will be paid an amount starting from Tsh 250,000/=
- Volunteer teachers for secondary schools will be paid an amount starting from Tsh 300,000/=
All these payments will be derived from the internal revenue budget of the relevant Council.
