The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of the Ministry of Health, has announced 63 one-year contract employment opportunities for qualified Tanzanian citizens. Available Positions
1. Medical Officer II – 23 Positions
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Providing medical services in hospitals, including diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
- Managing pediatric, obstetric, gynecological, and general surgical cases, including emergency surgeries.
- Delivering health education and promoting community health.
- Collecting, maintaining, and utilizing health statistics.
- Monitoring, investigating, and preventing disease outbreaks.
- Organizing continuing medical education programs for health workers.
- Supervising junior healthcare staff.
- Conducting health research and disseminating research findings.
- Developing strategies to improve the quality of healthcare services.
- Preparing healthcare plans and budget estimates.
- Participating in medical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors according to professional qualifications.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a Government-recognized university.
- Be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).

2. Assistant Nursing Officer II – 40 Positions
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Provide professional nursing services.
- Collect and maintain essential health data.
- Supervise junior nursing staff.
- Educate patients and communities on health-related issues.
- Provide preventive and maternal healthcare services.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors based on their qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a Diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution.
- Be registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).

General Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be Tanzanian citizens.
- Must not exceed 45 years of age.
- For military institutions:
- Diploma and certificate applicants must not exceed 25 years.
- Degree holders must not exceed 30 years.
- Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should indicate their disability during the online application process.
- Attach a certified birth certificate.
- Current public servants are not eligible to apply unless they follow the Government transfer procedures.

- Professional registration certificates where applicable.
- Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results, Form IV and Form VI result slips will not be accepted.
- Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must have their qualifications verified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET). Applicants whose positions require GPA should also attach GPA equivalency from TCU.
- Retired public servants are not eligible unless authorized by the Chief Secretary.
- Submission of forged documents or false information will result in legal action.
