About the Position
The Procurement Supervisor will oversee all procurement operations within the General Services Office. The successful candidate will supervise a team of seven employees and ensure the effective acquisition of goods and services for the U.S. Department of State and other participating U.S. Government agencies.
The role also includes managing procurement procedures, contracts, purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS/Ariba).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Supervise the Procurement Section and its staff.
- Coordinate procurement and contracting activities.
- Develop procurement schedules and priorities.
- Manage supplier selection and contract administration.
- Oversee purchasing using ILMS/Ariba software.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Government procurement regulations.
- Monitor procurement performance and financial accountability.
- Maintain ethical and sustainable procurement practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:
Option One
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible procurement experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Option Two
- Two years of college or university education.
- At least 7 years of procurement experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Option Three
- Completion of secondary education.
- At least 8 years of procurement experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
Language Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Fluent English (Speaking, Reading and Writing)
- Fluent Kiswahili (Speaking, Reading and Writing)
Language proficiency may be tested during the recruitment process.
Required Knowledge
