JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Municipal Director of Shinyanga Municipal Council invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for six (06) job vacancies in the Council. These positions have been approved by the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance.

1.0 POSITION: DRIVER GRADE II (6 POSTS)

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety
Transport staff to various locations for official duties
Perform minor vehicle maintenance
Collect and distribute documents
Record and maintain all trip details in the logbook
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least a Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV)
Must possess a valid Driving License Class C or E
At least one (1) year driving experience without causing accidents
Must hold a relevant driving certificate for the license class
Must have attended a Basic Driving Course from VETA or any government-recognized institution

1.3 SALARY SCALE

1.4 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 45 years
Must submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) including:
- Reliable address
- Active phone numbers
- Email address
- Names of three (3) reliable referees
Applications must include certified copies of:
- Academic certificates (Form IV and Form VI where applicable)
- Professional and training certificates
- Degree/Diploma/Certificates (if applicable)
- Computer certificates (if any)
The following documents will NOT be accepted:
- Testimonials
- Provisional results
- Statements of results
- Form IV & VI result slips
Applicants who studied abroad must have their certificates verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, or NACTE)
Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary
Applicants currently employed in entry-level public service positions should not apply
Submission of false information or forged documents will result in legal action
Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews
