Volunteering Jobs at Bombo Tanga Regional Referral Hospital February 2026 ANNOUNCEMENT OF VOLUNTEER JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH
The Medical Officer In-Charge of Tanga Regional Referral Hospital wishes to inform all qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following volunteer positions:
1. DOCTORS – 6 POSTS
Professional Qualifications
-
Must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree from a recognized institution.

Must have completed internship training.
-
Must be registered and licensed by the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Provide all hospital medical services including care for children, maternal and reproductive health, and emergency cases.
ii. Deliver health education and promote community health in the region.
iii. Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases.
iv. Record and report statistics according to MTUHA guidelines.
v. Plan and evaluate health services in the assigned area.
vi. Supervise and guide subordinate staff.
vii. Train students in health-related institutions located in the work area.
viii. Conduct ward rounds and manage patient cases.
ix. Prepare and submit professional reports.
x. Prepare service improvement plans and budgets.
xi. Participate in medical audits and quality improvement activities.
xii. Provide outreach services within the region.
xiii. Perform other duties as assigned according to qualifications and expertise.
2. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II (ANAESTHESIA) – 3 POSTS
Professional Qualifications
-
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.

Registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Must have completed one year of Anaesthesia training.
Duties
i. Provide anaesthesia services.
ii. Collect important health statistics.
iii. Supervise junior staff.
iv. Provide health education to patients and the community.
v. Provide preventive and curative services.
vi. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II – 10 POSTS
Professional Qualifications
-
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.

Registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Duties
i. Provide nursing services.
ii. Collect health statistics.
iii. Supervise junior staff.
iv. Provide health education to patients and the community.
v. Offer preventive and curative services.
vi. Perform other duties as assigned.
4. LAUNDRY ATTENDANT – 1 POST
Qualifications
-
Holder of Form Four certificate with two or three years of training in Laundry Services from a recognized institution.
Duties
i. Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold clothes.
ii. Report damaged or torn clothes to the supervisor.
iii. Maintain all laundry equipment properly.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 35 years.

Must hold a relevant certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized institution.

Must have a valid professional license where applicable.

Must have two referees who are public servants.

Must have a recommendation letter from a Village Executive Officer/Ward Executive Officer or local government authority.

Must be ready to volunteer in the assigned area.

Must have no criminal record.

Must have good conduct and acceptable behavior in society.

Must not be currently employed in any institution since completing studies.

Attach certified copies of academic certificates, national ID or NIDA number, and two recent passport-size photos.
