Job Vacancies at Mvomero District Council February 2026 The Executive Director of Mvomero District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for eight (8) vacant positions within the Council after obtaining employment approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSTS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety;
ii. To transport staff to various work-related destinations;
iii. To carry out minor vehicle maintenance;
iv. To maintain and update the vehicle logbook for all trips;
v. To collect and distribute various documents;
vi. To ensure cleanliness of the vehicle; and
vii. To perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV education and possess a valid Class “C” or “E” driving license with at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident. In addition, the applicant must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other Government-recognized institution.

2.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 2 POSTS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To register incoming correspondence in the incoming correspondence register;
ii. To register outgoing correspondence in the outgoing correspondence register;
iii. To distribute files to Action Officers;
iv. To receive files returned from Action Officers;
v. To return files to racks/filling cabinets or designated storage areas; and
vi. To track the movement of files within the institution.
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a Government-recognized institution, with computer skills.

3.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – 4 POSTS
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To type letters, reports, and both confidential and non-confidential documents;
ii. To receive visitors, present their concerns, and direct them to appropriate services;
iii. To maintain records of events, appointments, meeting dates, official trips, and work schedules;
iv. To retrieve files and documents required for duty execution;
v. To receive and distribute files to relevant Departments/Units/Sections;
vi. To collect, store, and return files and documents to their respective locations;
vii. To prepare summaries and arrangements for various meetings;
viii. To prepare lists of office equipment requirements; and
ix. To perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
3.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies from a Government-recognized institution. Applicants must have passed Kiswahili and English shorthand typing at a speed of 100 words per minute and have training in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a recognized institution.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years;
ii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae with reliable contact address, phone numbers, e-mail address, and names of three (3) reliable referees;
iii. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates verified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including Form IV and VI certificates (where applicable), Diplomas, Computer Certificates, and professional qualifications;
iv. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, and Form IV and Form VI Results Slips will not be accepted;
v. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE);
vi. Applicants who were previously dismissed from Public Service are not eligible to apply unless they have clearance from the Chief Secretary;
vii. Submission of forged information or qualifications will result in legal action;
