Job Title: Transport Officer
Number of Positions: Four (4)
UDA Rapid Transit Plc (UDART) invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and motivated Tanzanians to fill the position of Transport Officer.
Job Details
(a) Entry Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields from a recognized institution:

Transport Management
-
Logistics Management
-
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
-
Or any other equivalent qualification
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
The Transport Officer shall be responsible for the following duties:
-
Conducting routine checks of all vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.

Supervising drivers and ensuring optimal utilization of resources to maximize productivity.

Preparing and submitting monthly performance reports for individual vehicle drivers for management action.
-
Advising management on the serviceability, disposal, or replacement of vehicle equipment that is unserviceable or beyond economical repair.

Ensuring accurate maintenance of vehicle log sheets.
-
Keeping electronic vehicle records, including total distance travelled by each vehicle.
-
Ensuring vehicle availability by minimizing downtime.
-
Preparing technical reports, statistics, and documentation required for vehicle maintenance reviews.

Developing Transport Safety Guidelines, Drivers’ Manuals, and Internal Repair and Maintenance Guidelines to enhance vehicle sustainability and value for money.

Preparing driver training proposals in line with company policies.

Developing driver performance measurement tools to support effective performance management.

Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
