21,851 STUDENTS ALLOCATED LOANS AND GRANTS IN THE THIRD PHASE INCLUDING THOSE ALLOCATED THROUGH THE APPEAL WINDOW
The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) today (Monday, December 1, 2025) has announced the third phase of loan and grant allocations for the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 21,851 students. This number includes allocations made through the Appeal Window and new applicants who are continuing with their studies as follows:
6,487 undergraduate students have been allocated loans through the appeal window amounting to TZS 21.5 billion.
2,611 undergraduate students have been allocated loans through the normal application process amounting to TZS 8.3 billion.
11,419 continuing students (FTCs) have been allocated loans for the first time worth TZS 37.2 billion.
1,235 first-year diploma students have been allocated TZS 3.2 billion.
31 new ‘Samia Scholarship’ students have been allocated grants amounting to TZS 5 billion.
68 postgraduate students (53 Master’s and 15 PhD students) have been allocated TZS 361.7 million.
The Board will continue allocating loans for students who are continuing with their studies and finalizing payments for students who have reported to their institutions.
