Public Announcement From HESLB To All Loan Applicants 2025/2026
The Higher Education Student Loans Board wishes to inform loan applicants and the general public that the deadline for submitting loan applications has been moved forward from August 31 to September 14, 2025. This step has been taken to give an opportunity to those who for various reasons could not submit loan applications in the scheduled time.
As of today, August 31, 2025, a total of 157,309 loan applications have been received for the 2025/2026 academic year. That number is an increase of 5% compared to the 150,530 applications that were received in the same period last year, 2024/2025. In addition, 960 applications for the ‘Samia Scholarship’ have already been received compared to 742 applications that were received in 2024/2025, which is an increase of 29%.
It will be remembered that the Board started accepting student loan applications online from June 15, 2025. Through this announcement, loan applicants for the academic year 2025/2026 who have registered but have not completed, are advised to complete and submit their loan applications within the extended period. The Board wishes to emphasize that there will be no further extension after September 14, 2025.
