Job Description

The successful candidate will provide professional reservations and ticketing services to customers and travel agencies through telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while supporting airline revenue targets and ensuring efficient passenger booking and ticketing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Make and confirm passenger reservations.
• Arrange travel reservations and flight routing using airline schedules and reservation systems.
• Issue airline tickets using the correct fare rules and procedures.
• Advise customers of flight changes, cancellations, or reservation confirmations.
• Coordinate with load control and other stations regarding passenger itinerary changes.
• Ensure daily sales reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Promote airline products and services to maximize sales revenue.
• Process reservations received via phone, email, and other communication channels.
• Assist travel agents with seat confirmations and upgrade or downgrade requests.
• Process ticket refunds, lost tickets, and expired (time-barred) tickets.
• Examine passenger travel documents and provide appropriate travel advice.
• Calculate ticket fares and travel routes using airline fare systems.
• Contact customers or travel agents regarding schedule changes and alternative travel options.
• Prepare and issue tickets for customers.
• Respond to inquiries from travel agencies and transportation companies.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience in the aviation, airline, or travel industry.
• A recognized IATA or Airline Basic Tariff Course certification is an added advantage.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Good knowledge of airline fare structures, promotions, and special offers.
• Must have the legal right to live and work in Tanzania.
