Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) Announces 23 Job Vacancies for 2026

The Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) has officially announced 23 employment opportunities for qualified and experienced Tanzanians. The vacancies are available at the Head Office, Unguja, Dar es Salaam, and Tanga, offering career opportunities in insurance, ICT, operations, sales, and management.

Available Positions

1. Underwriting Manager (1 Position)

Duty Station: Head Office

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• At least three (3) years in a managerial underwriting position.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
• Proven success in business growth and achieving underwriting targets.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Good knowledge of insurance regulations and industry best practices.

2. Bancassurance, Sales and Agency Manager (1 Position)

Duty Station: Head Office

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• At least three (3) years in Bancassurance, Sales, and Agency Management.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Proven business development and sales growth record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations and industry standards.

3. Reinsurance Manager (1 Position)

Duty Station: Head Office

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• At least three (3) years managing reinsurance operations.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Experience in reinsurance business development.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations and best practices.

4. ICT Manager (1 Position)

Duty Station: Head Office

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the insurance industry.
• At least three (3) years in ICT management.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Ability to use technology to improve business operations.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of insurance systems and regulations is an added advantage.

5. Insurance Officer II (10 Positions)

Duty Stations

• Unguja – 8 Positions
• Dar es Salaam – 1 Position
• Tanga – 1 Position

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management or Actuarial Science.
• Computer literacy.
• Good customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills.

6. Operations Officer (9 Positions)

Duty Station: Unguja

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:

• Insurance and Risk Management
• Economics of Development
• Management of Social Development
• International Relations
• Public Administration
• Foreign Languages
• Tourism Management
• Marketing
• Business Planning and Management
• Commerce

Additional requirements include:

• Computer literacy.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients and visitors.
