The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) announces admission opportunities for Diploma Teacher Education Programmes in Early Childhood and Primary Education.
The programmes offered are:
- Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education (2 years)
- Special Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (3 years) specializing in Science and Mathematics subjects
- Distance Learning Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education (3–4 years)
These programmes will be offered in both Government and Non-Government Teachers’ Colleges. The Ministry invites applications from qualified candidates to join Teacher Education programmes in accordance with the qualifications specified in this announcement.
2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
a) Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education (2 Years)
Applicants must be:
- Form Six graduates with Division I–III, having at least two Principal Passes; or
- Teachers who have completed a Teacher Education Certificate (Ordinary Diploma/Certificate level) in Early Childhood or Primary Education.
Successful applicants who are certificate-holding teachers will be assigned to appropriate streams based on their performance in the National Teacher Education Examination at Certificate level.
b) Special Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (3 Years)
Applicants must be Form Four graduates with Division I–III, having obtained Grade C or above in at least three subjects, two of which must be from:
- Basic Mathematics
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Information and Computer Studies
- Computer Science
c) Distance Learning Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education (3–4 Years)
Applicants must be teachers who have completed a Teacher Education Certificate in Early Childhood or Primary Education.
Teacher colleges wishing to offer distance learning programmes must comply with the Guidelines for Offering Diploma Programmes in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education through Distance Learning (February 2026) issued by the Commissioner for Education.

4. APPLICATION PROCEDURES
- Form Four graduates, Form Six graduates, and Certificate-level teachers who meet the qualifications are eligible to apply.

Applicants seeking admission to Government Teachers’ Colleges must register and submit applications online through the Ministry’s admission system:

- Applicants for the 2-year Diploma in Early Childhood and Primary Teacher Education must select three preferred specializations/streams, starting with their most preferred choice.
- Applicants for the 3-year Special Diploma in Primary Teacher Education must select three preferred specializations, beginning with the most preferred.
- Admission results for Government Teachers’ Colleges will be available through the applicant’s online account beginning 15 July 2026, and at the colleges where applicants have been selected.
- Applicants seeking admission to Non-Government Teachers’ Colleges should apply directly to the respective colleges. Admission results will be issued by the colleges concerned.
- Joining instructions will be available through the Ministry’s website and from the assigned college. Applicants are advised to provide complete postal addresses, email addresses, and reachable telephone numbers.
- The deadline for submitting applications is 10 July 2026.
