The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of the Mzumbe University , invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill various vacant positions as detailed below.

1. ICT Officer II (Audio Visual) – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in maintaining proper records of examination results, minutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Assisting in managing and maintaining the TV room.
  • Maintaining records of required audio-visual (AV) equipment.
  • Assisting in repairing AV equipment and maintaining the TV Centre.
  • Assisting in video camera operations during various events and occasions.
  • Assisting in setting up and adjusting audio-visual equipment.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

2. Receptionist II – 3 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving visitors and directing them to the appropriate offices or officials.
  • Attending incoming telephone calls and directing them accordingly.
  • Receiving incoming mails and forwarding them to the respective officials.
  • Maintaining registers for various office activities.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • Form IV Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in English and Kiswahili; or
  • Form VI Certificate of Secondary Education plus a one-year Certificate in one of the following fields:
    • Front Office
    • Hospitality Management
    • Hotel Management
    • Or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

3. Transcriber II – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transcribing undergraduate handouts, chapters, passages, and books.
  • Carrying out minor maintenance duties.
  • Reading and recording books for blind undergraduate students as talking books.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Bachelor Degree in Special Education for the Blind from a recognized institution.

4. Assistant Environment Health Officer II – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in inspecting environmental sanitation around the campus.
  • Assisting in inspecting sanitation standards in buildings and cafeterias.
  • Assisting in planning and implementing fumigation activities within University premises.
  • Promoting primary health care services to the University community.
  • Assisting in inspecting food consumed by students according to Government standards.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Diploma in one of the following fields:

  • Public Health
  • Health Sciences
  • Environmental Health Sciences
  • Or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

5. ICT Officer II (Instructional Designer) – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in coordinating with faculty staff on online course development.
  • Co-facilitating instructional design training sessions.
  • Collecting course content for development of learning materials and modules.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to enrolled students.
  • Assisting Senior Instructional Designers in developing courses and modules within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Performing any other related duties assigned by relevant authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields:

  • ICT with Mediated Content Development
  • ICT with Multimedia Technology and Animation
  • Or equivalent computer-related qualifications from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale

PGSS 7.1

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Applicants must:

  • Be Tanzanian citizens.
  • Not exceed 45 years of age.
  • Attach certified copies of academic and professional certificates.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Indicate three reputable referees with reliable contacts.
  • Ensure foreign certificates are verified by relevant authorities such as TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET.
