JOB VACANCIES – WATUMISHI HOUSING INVESTMENTS (WHI)


1.0 QUANTITY SURVEYOR II – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Quantity Surveyors in collecting data for feasibility studies.
  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates, schedules of works, and draft Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
  • Apply relevant laws, policies, regulations, and standards in building project design.
  • Conduct site valuations at various stages of project implementation.
  • Compile and review cost estimates and BoQs from different disciplines.
  • Prepare draft bidding documents, project schedules, and budgets.
  • Collect site data for technical audits related to construction projects.
  • Participate in condition surveys and preparation of financial reports for existing structures.
  • Gather and analyze cost control data for use in project estimates.
  • Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Prepare financial and project appraisal reports.
  • Perform project and contract management duties.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree in:
    • Quantity Surveying
    • Building Economics
    • Building Survey
    • Construction Management
    • Or related field from a recognized institution
  • Must be registered with AQRB or recognized as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor.

Salary Scale

  • WHIS 4

2.0 ACCOUNTANT II – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and deposit cash and cheques.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and manage petty cash.
  • Maintain bank deposit slips, receipt books, and cheque books.
  • Record financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and manage payment vouchers and related documentation.
  • Maintain records for credit notes, debit notes, and journal vouchers.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records in the system.
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of dues.
  • Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register.
  • Prepare monthly revenue reports, including VAT reconciliations.
  • Generate debtor reports and follow up on outstanding debts.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for management and authorities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Commerce / Business Administration (majoring in Accounting or Finance)
  • Must possess professional certification such as:
    • CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or equivalent recognized by NBAA
  • Must have ICT skills and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and public sector reporting is an added advantage.
  • At least one (1) year working experience is an added advantage.

3.0 DRIVER II – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles safely in compliance with traffic laws and safety standards.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times.
  • Keep accurate and updated vehicle logbooks.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any faults.
  • Ensure all required documents and permits are valid before travel.
  • Arrange routine maintenance and repairs with approved service providers.
  • Maintain discipline, professionalism, and proper conduct.
  • Perform messenger duties such as delivering documents and collecting mail.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Form IV Certificate.
  • Must have a valid Class C Driving License.
  • Must have completed a Basic Driving Course.
  • Trade Test Grade III / NVA Level I in Motor Vehicle Mechanics is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years accident-free driving experience.

4.0 ARCHITECT II – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze client requirements for building projects.
  • Advise on project scope and technical service requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and initial project appraisals.
  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare design proposals.
  • Prepare and present project proposals.
  • Compile detailed project information and facilitate tendering processes.
  • Prepare reports, schedules, and official correspondence.
  • Conduct condition surveys for existing buildings.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Bachelor Degree in:
    • Architecture
    • Interior Design
    • Landscape Architecture
    • Architectural Technology
    • Building Engineering Technology
    • Or related field from a recognized institution
  • Registration with AQRB or recognition as a Graduate Architect is an added advantage.

  • WHIS 4
