Katavi Institute of Science and Development Studies (KISDES)
Katavi Institute of Science and Development Studies (KISDES) is a registered training institution accredited by NACTVET under registration number REG/BTP/094. The Institute is located in Mpanda Municipality, Katavi Region.
KISDES offers training programmes in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Tourism, ICT, Laboratory Assistance, and related fields.
The Principal of Katavi Institute of Science and Development Studies invites applications from qualified and competent graduates to fill the following vacant academic positions:
1.0 PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE – 4 POSITIONS
1.1 Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepare and deliver theoretical and practical lessons to students.
-
Mark and assess students’ theoretical and practical work.
-
Coordinate teaching and learning activities in line with approved modules.
-
Prepare and mark assignments, tests, and internal examinations.
-
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
-
Collaborate with other instructors in teaching and learning activities.
-
Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
1.2 Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from a government-recognized institution.
-
Registered with the Pharmacy Council with a valid practicing license.
-
At least one (1) year of relevant working experience.
-
Teaching experience in colleges or universities will be an added advantage.
-
Ability to plan and manage both academic and non-academic activities of the Institute.
-
Strong mentoring, guidance, and student support skills.
-
Innovative, resourceful, ethical, attentive, and responsible professional.
2.0 PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNICIAN – 2 POSITIONS
2.1 Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepare and teach theoretical and practical lessons.
-
Assess students’ academic work.
-
Coordinate teaching and learning processes according to approved modules.
-
Prepare and mark assignments, tests, and internal examinations.
-
Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students.
-
Work collaboratively with other instructors.
-
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
2.2 Qualifications and Experience
-
Diploma in Pharmacy with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from a recognized institution.
-
Registered with the Pharmacy Council and possess a valid practicing license.
-
At least one (1) year of teaching or relevant professional experience.
-
Experience teaching at health or technical colleges will be an added advantage.
-
Ability to manage academic and institutional activities effectively.
-
Strong mentoring, advisory, and student support skills.
-
Innovative, ethical, attentive, and responsible individual.
3.0 SOCIAL WORK – 3 POSITIONS
3.1 Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepare and deliver theoretical and practical lessons.
-
Mark and assess students’ academic work.
-
Coordinate teaching and learning activities in accordance with approved modules.
-
Prepare and mark assignments and tests.
-
Provide academic mentorship and professional guidance to students.
-
Collaborate with fellow instructors in teaching and learning activities.
-
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
3.2 Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from a recognized institution.
-
At least one (1) year of relevant work experience.
-
Teaching experience in colleges or universities will be an added advantage.
-
Ability to manage academic and non-academic institutional activities.
-
Strong guidance, counseling, and mentorship skills.
-
Innovative, ethical, attentive, and responsible professional.
4.0 General Conditions
-
Applicants must not be above 55 years of age.
-
Applicants must apply only for positions for which they meet the stated qualifications.

Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must have their academic certificates verified and equated by NECTA, NACTVET, or TCU, as applicable.
