Samia Scholarship Benefits and Funding Package

Tuition Fee (TF)
- Up to TZS 5,000,000 per year
Meals and Accommodation (MA)
- TZS 10,000 per day
- Paid in four installments annually
Books and Stationery (BS)
- Up to TZS 200,000 per year
Special Faculty Requirements (SFR)
- Funding based on approved faculty requirements
Field Practical Training (FPT)
- TZS 10,000 per day
- Maximum of 56 days
Research Expenses (RES)
- Up to TZS 500,000 per year
Health Insurance (HI)
- TZS 50,400 annually
Assistive Equipment for Students with Special Needs
- Up to TZS 2,000,000
- Paid once during the study period
Scholarship Duration
The Samia Scholarship will cover students for a period ranging from:
- 3 years

- 5 years
depending on the duration of their academic programme.
How Samia Scholarship Funds Are Paid
All payments are processed through the HESLB Digital Disbursement Solution (DiDiS).
- Tuition fees are paid directly to institutions.
- Other allowances are deposited into students’ bank accounts.
Terms and Conditions for Beneficiaries
Recipients of the scholarship must:
- Sign the Scholarship Agreement with HESLB.
- Notify HESLB when changing institutions or programmes.
- Obtain approval for any study postponement due to medical reasons.
- Inform HESLB if they decide not to commence studies.
Reasons for Scholarship Cancellation
The scholarship may be withdrawn if:
- A student postpones studies for non-medical reasons.
- A beneficiary is discontinued due to disciplinary issues.
- A student obtains a GPA below 3.8.
Students who lose the scholarship may still apply for a regular HESLB loan for the remaining study period.
