Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare certificates and documents for vessel registration and licensing.
• Maintain central records of registered and licensed ships.
• Assist in conducting surveys and inspections of Tanzanian and foreign-flagged vessels operating in Tanzanian ports.
• Participate in maritime casualty and incident preliminary investigations.
• Assist in preparing certificates and detention notices for vessels.
• Develop individual objectives and performance standards in consultation with supervisors.
• Perform any other official duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
  • Nautical Science,
  • Maritime Transportation,
  • Marine Engineering, or
  • Hydrography.
• Must have attained:
  • Certificate of Competence (STCW Regulation II/1), or
  • Certificate of Competence (STCW Regulation III/1).
