The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) is a corporate body established under the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board Act, [CAP 178 R.E. 2023]. Its core mandate is to provide financial support in the form of loans and grants to eligible and needy Tanzanian students pursuing higher education.
As part of its commitment to nurturing young professionals and strengthening practical skills among graduates, HESLB is inviting qualified, motivated, and dynamic Tanzanian graduates to apply for volunteer opportunities in the following areas:

Qualifications Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria based on the position applied for:
Information, Education and Communication
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Communication Studies, or equivalent
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills
Legal Services
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution
- Good communication and computer skills
Planning and Research
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Planning, or related field
- Computer literacy
Loans Allocation and Disbursement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- Computer literacy
Procurement and Supply Management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- Computer literacy
Loan Repayment and Recovery
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Computer literacy
Administration
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or related field
- Computer skills
Records Management
- Diploma in Records and Archives Management, Archive Management, or related field
Electrical Installation
- Diploma (NTA Level 6) or FTC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Plumbing and Pipe-fitting
- Diploma (NTA Level 6) or FTC in Plumbing or equivalent
Accounts and Finance
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (majoring in Accountancy or Finance)
- OR Intermediate Certificate (Module D) from NBAA
- Computer literacy

Successful applicants may be assigned to any of the following locations:
- Dar es Salaam
- Dodoma
- Mbeya
- Mtwara
- Mwanza
- Arusha
- Zanzibar
General Conditions
- Applicants must be Tanzanian graduates (2020–2025)
- Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply
- Attach an updated CV with valid contacts
- Provide three referees (including one academic referee)
- Volunteer period: up to one year (renewable)
- Attach certified copies of:
- Academic certificates and transcripts
- Form IV and/or VI certificates
- Birth certificate or National ID
- Result slips, testimonials, and partial transcripts are not accepted
- Foreign certificates must be verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NACTE, or NECTA)
- Submission of forged documents will lead to disqualification and legal action
- Attach a letter from a Local Government authority confirming residence
- Include a brief statement explaining your interest in the volunteer program
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
- Volunteers will not receive a salary but will get a stipend for transport and meals
- This program does not guarantee employment at HESLB
- Clearly indicate the position applied for
- Application letters must be handwritten in English
