Available Positions
Halotel is currently recruiting for the following senior-level positions:
1. Director of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
Job Purpose:
Lead the strategic development, expansion, and optimization of Halotel’s national fiber optic network. The role oversees the entire network architecture—from Backbone to Last Mile—ensuring seamless integration with the National ICT Broadband Backbone.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in telecommunications (fiber optics & transmission)
- Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong expertise in DWDM, SDH, GPON, and IP/MPLS networks
- Proven leadership in managing large teams and infrastructure budgets
- In-depth knowledge of Tanzania telecom regulations, including Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority
Reporting To: CTO / CEO
2. Senior Fiber Planning & Transmission Engineer
Job Purpose:
Act as the lead technical architect for designing and optimizing Halotel’s fiber and transmission network infrastructure nationwide.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in fiber optics and telecom engineering
- Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Advanced knowledge of DWDM, SDH, GPON, IP/MPLS
- Experience with GIS tools (e.g., GE Smallworld, MapInfo)
- Strong project leadership and infrastructure planning skills
- Familiarity with national telecom standards and NICTBB systems
Reporting To: Director of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
3. Regional Fiber Operations Officer
Job Purpose:
Oversee the execution, maintenance, and expansion of fiber optic operations across multiple regions in Tanzania, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in telecom operations (5+ years in leadership)
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration (technical background preferred), or related field
- Expertise in fiber technologies and field operations
- Proven ability to manage large teams (100+ staff) and operational budgets
- Strong understanding of Tanzania’s telecom environment and regional challenges
Reporting To: Director of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
