JOB VACANCIES – NJOMBE URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION AUTHORITY (NJUWASA)
1.0 WATER LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily water sample testing to determine treatment requirements.
- Collect water samples from different points of the treatment plant.
- Perform water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Carry out physical, chemical, and bacteriological analysis.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data on water production and distribution.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of a Diploma / FTC in:
- Water Laboratory Technology
- Water Resources Engineering
- Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering
- Or related field from a recognized institution
Salary Scale
- NWAS 3
2.0 ARTISAN II (PUMP OPERATOR) – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate water pumps according to scheduled programs.
- Monitor water levels in storage tanks and reservoirs.
- Perform maintenance of pumps, filters, valves, and related equipment.
- Monitor electricity availability and record power failures.
- Ensure correct dosage of chlorine and treatment chemicals.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of Form IV Certificate.
- Must possess Trade Test Grade II / NTA Level 5 in:
- Pump Mechanics
- Electrical Installation (Domestic or Industrial)
- From a recognized institution.
Salary Scale
- NWAS 2
3.0 ARTISAN II (PLUMBER) – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Detect, attend to, and report water leakages.
- Identify and report water distribution faults and recommend solutions.
- Prepare data for periodic performance reports.
- Report contamination in water distribution systems.
- Develop individual performance targets in consultation with supervisors.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holder of Form IV Certificate.
- Must possess Trade Test Grade II / NTA Level 5 in:
- Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
- Pump Mechanics
- From a recognized institution.
Salary Scale
- NWAS 2
