The Municipal Director of Tabora Municipal Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for five (05) job vacancies in the Council, following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
1.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 5 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Register incoming correspondence in the Incoming Correspondence Register.
ii. Register outgoing correspondence in the Outgoing Correspondence Register.
iii. Distribute files to Action Officers.
iv. Receive files returned to the registry from Action Officers.
v. Return files to shelves/filing cabinets or any other designated storage areas.
vi. Track the movement of files within and outside the Institution (file tracking).
vii. Classify, register, and arrange records/documents into relevant subject categories (classification and boxing) for office use.
viii. File records (letters, documents, etc.) appropriately.
ix. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from Government-recognized institutions, with computer skills.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should indicate the type of disability in the Recruitment Portal for information purposes to the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
iii. Applicants must attach a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a valid address, reachable phone numbers, email address, and names of three (3) reliable referees.
Provisional testimonials, statements of results, and Form IV and Form VI results slips will NOT be accepted.
iv. All applicants must attach a certified birth certificate verified by an Advocate/Lawyer.
v. Applicants who were dismissed from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
vi. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have acquired qualifications for the cadre must submit their applications through their employers, who must verify their qualifications accordingly.
vii. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply; instead, they must adhere to the guidelines outlined in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
viii. All applications must be accompanied by certified academic and professional certificates, including:

Form IV and Form VI certificates;

Certificates for completion of relevant training according to job requirements, such as Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate;

Computer Certificate;
-
Professional Certificates from respective Boards.
ix. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET).
x. Submission of forged information or qualifications will result in legal action.
xi. Application letters must be written in Kiswahili or English.
xii. The deadline for submission of applications is 22nd January, 2026.
