A. Low-level soldiers (who completed Form IV or VI)
Soldiers who are hired through the fourth form (Form IV) or sixth (Form VI) certificate without a higher degree are assigned the initial rank (constable/prison warden).
- Typically: Basic salary: It ranges from TZS 400,000 to 600,000 per month.
- Food allowance (ration allowance): TZS 200,000 – 300,000 per month.
- Other allowances (accommodation, hardship, transportation): TZS 100,000 – 300,000 depending on the work center.
General estimate: An average soldier can earn between 600,000 to 1,000,000 TZS per month.
B. Soldiers with special professions (Diploma, Certificate, Degree)
- For those who join the Prison Service with a higher education such as a diploma or first degree (Degree): Basic salary: Starts from TZS 700,000 to 1,200,000 per month.
- Food allowance: TZS 300,000 per month.
- Additional allowance for professional and special duties may be added.
General estimate: The salary can reach between TZS 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 per month.
2. Extra Allowances
