Pangani District Council has officially announced 9 employment opportunities for qualified Tanzanian citizens. The Executive Director invites competent, self-motivated, and results-oriented applicants to fill vacant positions in the Council.

Available Positions

1. Office Management Secretary II (Mwandishi Mwendesha Ofisi Daraja la II)

Number of Posts: 5

Key Responsibilities

  • Type official correspondence, reports, and confidential documents.
  • Receive visitors, listen to their concerns, and direct them to the appropriate offices.
  • Maintain records of appointments, meetings, official events, travel schedules, and work plans.
  • Retrieve files and documents required for daily operations.
  • Receive and distribute files to relevant departments and officers.
  • Organize, maintain, and return files to their designated locations.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and provide administrative support during meetings.
  • Prepare office stationery and equipment requirements.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be holders of a Form Four (O-Level) or Form Six (A-Level) certificate.
  • Possess a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies.
  • Have passed English and Kiswahili shorthand/typing at 80 words per minute.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Internet
    • E-mail
    • Microsoft Publisher
  • Training must be obtained from a Government-recognized institution.

Salary Scale: TGS C


2. Driver II

Number of Posts: 4

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect the vehicle before and after every journey to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Transport government staff on official assignments.
  • Carry out minor vehicle maintenance.
  • Record all trips in the vehicle logbook.
  • Deliver and collect official documents.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold a Form Four Certificate (CSEE).
  • Possess a valid Class E or Class C Driving Licence.
  • Have at least one year of accident-free driving experience.
  • Hold a Basic Driving Course Certificate from VETA or another Government-recognized institution.

Salary Scale: TGS B


General Requirements

All applicants must:

  • Be Tanzanian citizens.
  • Be 45 years old or below.

  • Retired public servants may only apply with permission from the Chief Secretary.
