1.0 Call for Applications

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships – 2027 Intake.

These scholarships aim to support qualified and talented individuals from eligible countries to pursue postgraduate studies in key priority development areas, including:

  • Agriculture and Food Security
  • Climate Change
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Foreign Policy and International Security
  • Mining and Energy
  • Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion

Interested and qualified applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.


2.0 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

a) Be at least 25 years old by 1 February 2027
b) Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-graduate professional experience
c) Be currently employed at the time of application
d) Be a citizen of an eligible country and reside there (except those working with African regional organizations or diplomatic missions)
e) Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree
f) Must not already hold or be pursuing a Master’s degree
g) Meet the English language requirement (e.g., IELTS score of at least 6.5, with no band below 6.0, valid as of 1 January 2026)
h) Must not have previously received a long-term Australia Awards Scholarship


3.0 Scholarship Benefits

The Australia Awards Scholarship provides:

  • Full tuition fees at the host university
  • Return international airfare
  • One-time establishment allowance upon arrival
  • Living allowance and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • Introductory Academic Program and ongoing academic support
  • Fieldwork allowance (where applicable)

4.0 Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents as high-quality colored PDF files, grouped appropriately:

  • Valid passport (proof of citizenship)
  • Certified undergraduate degree certificate
  • Certified academic transcripts
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certified employer referee report
  • Certified academic referee report
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)

5.0 Application Timeline

  • Applications opened on 1 February 2026
  • Deadline: 30 April 2026

Applications must be submitted online through the OASIS portal:

Applicants are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute delays.
