SOS Children’s Villages has been operating in Tanzania since 1991, with programmes currently implemented in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Iringa, Dodoma, and Mtwara.

1. Head of Programmes
Duty Station: National Office – Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: National Director
Job Summary
The Head of Programmes provides strategic leadership and technical oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, relevant, and sustainable programmes aligned with the SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania mission and strategic plan. The role focuses on programme impact, sustainability, partnerships, and evidence-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead programme design, implementation, and monitoring in line with the 2024–2028 Strategic Plan.

Drive the transition from residential care to family- and community-based care models.
-
Ensure programmes are child-centred, gender-responsive, safeguarding-focused, and compliant with national and international child rights standards.

Strengthen Results-Based Management (RBM), MEAL systems, and learning processes.

Lead care reform initiatives, including family reintegration and alternative care systems.

Build and manage partnerships with government institutions, CSOs, INGOs, UN agencies, donors, and academia.

Support fund development, proposal development, and donor engagement.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in child protection, family strengthening, or social development programmes.

Strong leadership, donor management, MEAL, and communication skills.

Fluency in English and Swahili.
2. Head of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)
Duty Station: National Office – Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: National Director
Job Summary
The Head of MEAL provides strategic leadership for programme quality assurance through robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems that promote evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement national MEAL frameworks aligned with SOS Federation standards.

Ensure quality monitoring, reporting, accountability mechanisms, and learning systems.

Lead documentation, data analysis, research, and dissemination of best practices.

Strengthen data visualization, dashboards, and compliance with donor and GDPR requirements.
Qualifications and Experience

Master’s degree in M&E, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field.

Minimum of 8–10 years’ MEAL experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.

Strong analytical, communication, and cross-cultural skills.
3. Senior Family Strengthening Coordinator
Duty Station: National Office – Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: Head of Programmes
Job Summary
Provides leadership and coordination for the National Family Strengthening Programme in line with organizational strategies and child protection frameworks.
Qualifications

Degree in Social Sciences or Community Development (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

5–7 years’ experience in social programme implementation, including managerial roles.

Strong knowledge of child rights and gender-responsive programming.
4. National Advocacy Coordinator
Duty Station: National Office – Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: National Director
Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating and implementing national advocacy strategies to promote child rights, justice, and policy influence for children without or at risk of losing parental care.
5. Family Strengthening and Community Coordinator
Duty Station: Mwanza
Reporting to: Program Manager
Job Summary
Leads family strengthening programmes, builds partnerships, and coordinates community-based child protection and development initiatives.
6. Logistics and Administration Officer
Duty Station: Mwanza
Reporting to: Program Manager
Job Summary
Provides administrative and logistical support to ensure efficient programme operations in compliance with organizational policies.
7. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Duty Station: Mwanza
Reporting to: Program Manager
Job Summary
Implements M&E systems, supports data management, reporting, and learning processes across programmes.
8. Human Resources Officer (2 Posts)
Duty Station: National Office
Reporting to: Head of HR/OD & Administration
Job Summary
Provides administrative support to HR functions including recruitment, staff records, contracts, payroll inputs, and onboarding processes.
9. Fundraising Coordinator
Duty Station: Zanzibar
Reporting to: Deputy National Director
Job Summary
Supports fundraising initiatives, donor relations, proposal development, and external communications to ensure sustainable funding.
