Job Vacancies at Buchosa District Council January 2026
The Acting Executive Director of Buchosa District Council invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for eight (08) job vacancies within the Council, following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
1.0 RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 5 POSITIONS
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Register incoming correspondence in the Incoming Correspondence Register;
ii. Register outgoing correspondence in the Outgoing Correspondence Register;
iii. Distribute files to Action Officers;
iv. Receive files returned to the registry from Action Officers;
v. Search for records/documents/files required by officers;
vi. Return files to shelves/filing cabinets or other designated storage locations;
vii. Track the movement of files within the Institution (File Tracking).
1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and possess a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from Government-recognized institutions, with computer skills.

2.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and roadworthiness;
ii. Transport staff to various locations on official duties;
iii. Carry out minor vehicle maintenance;
iv. Maintain and record all trips in the vehicle logbook;
v. Collect and distribute various documents;
vi. Keep the vehicle clean;
vii. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
2.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must possess a Form IV Certificate and a Class C or E Driving License, with at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident. Applicants must also possess a driving training certificate qualifying them for the respective license class. In addition, applicants must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other Government-recognized institution.

3.0 OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II – 1 POSITION
3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Type letters, reports, and routine documents;
ii. Receive visitors, identify their needs, and direct them to appropriate offices;
iii. Maintain records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, official travels of the supervisor, and other work schedules;
iv. Retrieve files and documents required for the execution of duties;
v. Receive and distribute files to officers in relevant departments/units;
vi. Collect, maintain, and return files and documents to appropriate locations;
vii. Prepare briefs and make arrangements for various meetings;
viii. Prepare lists of office equipment and supplies requirements.
3.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV education and possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies. Applicants must have passed Kiswahili and English shorthand at a speed of 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher, from a Government-recognized institution.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years;

iv. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must comply with Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010;
v. All applications must be accompanied by certified academic and professional certificates verified by an Advocate/Lawyer, including Form IV or Form VI certificates (where applicable) and certificates relevant to the position applied for, such as:

vi. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, and Form IV and Form VI Results Slips WILL NOT be accepted;
vii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE);
viii. Applicants who were dismissed from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;
ix. Submission of forged information or qualifications will result in legal action;
x. The deadline for submission of applications is 29th January, 2026.
